That is when I knew that my one week old, I'm-not-going to-sleep-like-a-baby, son was Spirited and our adventure was only about to begin; and I knew that martial arts would help to instill in him, patience, respect, self control and confidence (the last being the least of this natural leader's concerns).
The day finally came.
The Energizer Bunny, himself, couldn't keep up with the excitement Harrison emitted in the hours leading up to the class. And then to WAIT for the instructor? Absolute. Torture.
At last, they bowed in respect...
and the teaching began.
But as it is sometimes goes with a four-year-old, tiredness kicks in and a yawn takes over.
[I just yawn looking at him]
not for long though - quickly back to business...
I'm thinking he likes it.
As for Master Don, he may be rethinking his decision to teach martial arts to rambunctious four-year-olds...

Oh my!
Don't let your little one throw you around!
Those are great shots. I love them!
Those are so funny! The last one is hysterical!
love the look on his face in that last one :)
If you want to wander down my road I’m home.
great photos - I received that book from a friend when my daughter was 3 years old - ho - what a blessing - I was brain tired from this girl! I put her in karate last year to - she LOVES it!
This is so cool! Looks like he's having a blast. I cannot wait till Atti is ready for martial arts (having read the same book as you, which we are getting ready to read again)...
That last pic just cracks me up with the instructor rubbing his head. Is it too late for that book if mine is five??
Oh my, this is just wonderful!! I bet he slept well that night, once he finally crashed. :o) I've been looking for a ballet or tumbling class for Nadia...maybe I should add martial arts to that list!
Those are wonderful pictures! He looks absolutely thrilled to be there and you never know, the practice may tire him out. I'm still looking for something like that to happen to my 4 year old. ;)
So sad when your baby grows up, but then again, so cute! My baby is in Kindergarten... sniff!
Great shots of your growing boy!
That is so cute. Great shots, I especially like how the bright room adds to the energy.
And, are you saying there's something other than spirited children out there? ;-)
you posted this while my charger was broken, so I just now got to see. WOW! Your kid... he just keeps getting cuter!
Glad he enjoys martial arts : )
