BSM - At the Beach

Maybe NOT the best shot, but it's a favorite shot. And in my opinion it embraces breaking the rules in photography. Some rules are made to be broken.

Although we spent quite a bit of time at the beach yesterday, I actually took this at this beach this morning. One thing I love about Summer is that we have church on the beach. Yes, unconventional and maybe even pushing inconvenient by means of parking or fully hearing the sermon, etc., etc. But refreshing in so many other ways.

Some time to hear and reflect on God's word...

Some time to discover nature and play with friends.

there's so much fantasy and whimsy in the first shot. It's def. my favorite.
About the rules...your shot evokes emotion..very similar to say an impressionist painting. Dream like, but so much substance.
GREAT capture!

I like the idea of church at the beach. Reminds me of cowboy church. The pastors would travel out to the ranches to hold service as the cowboys couldn't make into town.

I like your blurry shot. I agree, sometimes it's nice to break the rule and see how the shot turns out. :)

Fabulous first shot! Your church on the beach has me even more excited about our baptism in the river service coming up in a couple of weeks....

I love that first shot and can I just say how jealous I am of your geographical location? Ok. I said it.

Ok, may I just say that Harrison could not look any more grown up in these photos...I am sorry...just telling the truth. He needs to stop doing that!

I agree that some rules are meant to be broken, and you being the AWESOME photographer that you are most likely know the rules, so of course you can break them! What a WONDERFUL result...I LOVE that first shot. The rest are so nice too, being that you are shooting in my most favorite location in the world (not that specific beach, but you get my drift).
Lastly, I have to say that church on the beach would be THE MOST ultimate experience- to worship God THERE...I have prayed silently on my own, lifted my hands towards the sky to Him...but chruch by the sea- what could be better, really? Lovely.

If the church service was at the beach we might actually make it to there LOL! Wow, that is pretty nice. Love the shots, too.

WHY does he look so TALL? I realize the way he is positioned in the photo makes him look a little taller, but holy cow....

That beach church sounds so serene and lovely. I love all these shots, sand is such an awesome, natural backdrop for those vibrant colors!
