Theme Thursday - It's Time for a Change!

On Monday, as we were getting ready to go upstairs for a nap, we heard some clunking around overhead and Harrison asked, Is Daddy making my big boy bed? He then told me he was ready to have his big-boy bed. We agreed to remove the rail after nap.

Apparently this past weekend while getting ready for bed, Harrison told Daddy that he wanted to take down the rail of his bed. He wanted to make a big boy bed. When he awoke later the G.I.D. went up and started the process. Here is the very giddy and proud boy in front of his new big-boy bed. Complete with just-woke-up hair.

I also showed him the twin mattress for the even bigger-boy bed that he eventually will have.

That's too big mommy.

That's fine, we have time.

Today he asked to look at the mattress today, That's my really big-boy bed! I'm 'Cited!!
He is becoming a "big boy", he had no problems with sleep since starting in the "new" bed and soon I think we'll be taking down that crib completely.

So Harrison, now that you have a big-boy bed, what do you want to do?

Mommy! Let's go Disneyland - That's a GREAT idea!

Well, we won't be going to Disneyland tomorrow but it will be an exciting day. Here's a hint.

More later!

I love his just woke up hair...to cute! Such a big boy now, too. Hopefully he sleeps well for you in the "new" bed and then in his big huge twin bed. Have fun on your outing!

I agree with Blueberry. When they are excited, everything goes so much smoother. And yes, he has beautiful hair! What a sweet face.

Oh, the transition...what a great way to ease into the big boy bed, and to plan an adventure to coincide with this special event! Hope he loves the bed and the fun time! Really...what a big boy he's become!

That is awesome that the transition has gone so easily. There's really something to be said for waiting for them to be completely ready for it! he looks so stinkin' big here...all grown up.

Yeah for the big boy bed. :) That's a great step and I think it's neat he acknowledges he isn't ready for a twin yet. I wish mine had been like that just a little. We move to the toddler bed and suddenly everything had to be bigger. We put bunk beds in his room to help accommodate guests and suddenly he refused to sleep in the toddler bed anymore. ;)

I can't believe you had no problems and he just transitioned so lovely into his new bed! That is awesome and just goes to show that it is all in due time...THEIR time!
