Best Shot Monday Swinging High!

Harrison loves to swing - high. And fast.
He runs hard, plays long and rarely runs out of energy.
In fact, he often says, "Mommy, I have my energy!"

He is a true adventurer and he stretches me to be one, too. I don't want to pass on my limitations to him. I try not to. I actually get excited about nature walks, visiting botanical gardens, taking hikes and finding bugs with him. When we went to the zoo on Thursday and he insisted on seeing the spider exhibit. (Surely I would have passed this up otherwise - my friend and her daughter sat it out.)

I remained excited and and enthusiastic for him. We took pictures of the big tarantulas and as we left the exhibit Harrison informed me that he wanted a pet spider to hold in his hand and get tickled by it's hair; and keep it cozy and warm. (Needless to say, that can happen when he's a teen and and can care for it himself.)

"How about a fish first?", I offered.

Tracey over at Mother May I asked what makes my heart skip a beat - why Harrison in all his pure little-boy goodness, of course! I had to add this picture from the zoo of just his cute little legs, busy playing, wearing "my" favorite light-up "blue big-boy shoes!" - as he puts it.

What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails,
And puppy-dogs' tails;
That's what little boys are made of.

Head over to Tracey's to see more Best Shot Monday pictures!

Those photos are so REAL.

"I don't want to pass on my limitations to him. I try not to." I can totally relate to that. I have two girls... they are not super adventurous, but they are definitely more so than I will ever be. I do my best to go along and not pass on my fears/ reservations to them. I want them to ENJOY life.

That's one of the best things about motherhood, isn't it? How it stretches us and encourages us to try new things, for their sake! I LOVE the first shot, great sunflare and so FREE!

Great Shots! Every once in awhile I lament that we will never have a little boy...today would be one of those days.
